Everything you need to know about our Eurorack module

// QUESTIONS
// Q1

What does your Eurorack module do?

Our module allows DJs and producers to connect Pioneer CDJs via Pro DJ Link directly to Eurorack systems. It translates BPM and beatgrid information into CV and MIDI signals, enabling tight synchronization of modular gear with CDJs.
// Q2

How does the module connect to CDJs?

It connects via Ethernet to the CDJs' Pro DJ Link network. No need for USB or MIDI-out from the CDJ—everything is pulled directly from the link protocol.
// Q3

What kind of outputs does it offer?

  • CV clock (for syncing sequencers and triggers)
  • Reset / 1st beat pulse
  • MIDI clock and transport commands (via DIN or TRS)
  • Optional tap or beat divisions (e.g., 1/4, 1/8)
// Q4

Does it support multiple CDJs?

Yes! It can listen to the entire DJ Link network, meaning it works in setups with 2, 3, or 4 CDJs. It usually syncs to the Master deck automatically.
// Q5

Can I choose which deck to sync to?

Yes. While it defaults to the Master deck, you can manually override and select any deck as the sync source via the module's interface or web config.
// Q6

Is there latency or jitter?

Very low latency. Clock signals are derived in near real-time from the Pro DJ Link packets, ensuring tight sync. CV outputs are hardware-generated for minimal jitter.
// Q7

Is it plug-and-play?

Mostly! Just plug in the Ethernet cable, select your output settings (MIDI or CV), and you're ready to sync. Advanced settings are available through a web interface hosted on the module.
// Q8

Do I need an internet connection?

No. The module only uses the local Pro DJ Link network created by the CDJs. No external internet connection is required.
// Q9

What CV range does it output?

Standard 0–5V CV pulses for clocks and resets, compatible with most Eurorack gear.
// Q10

Can it be updated?

Yes! Firmware updates can be installed via USB or web interface. We plan to release regular updates as we expand compatibility and features.
// Q11

Does it work with Rekordbox DJ or other software?

Currently, it's built for hardware CDJs using Pro DJ Link. Future software integration is planned.
// Q12

What's inside?

It runs on a Raspberry Pi Compute Module with a real-time processing layer, and a custom-built analog/digital output section for Eurorack use. Fully open-source and hacker-friendly.
